Antibiotic Reduction in Poultry Production
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1.1 Following specific measures recommended by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and global trends aiming to limit the development of antimicrobial resistance, HIPRA has decided to organize the present scientific Challenge that is regulated in accordance with the following Terms and Conditions. The purpose of this Challenge is to select the top 3 successful experiences that resulted in reduced use of antibiotics and / or coccidiostats, as well as innovative ideas that could potentially lead to their reduced use in layers, broilers and breeders.
2.1 The opening of this scientific Challenge will be announced on the WPVC by Hipra dedicated microsite: https://www.poultrycongress.hipra.com (the Event Microsite).
2.2 The Challenge is open to veterinary surgeons, practitioners or other professionals eligible to participate according to the applicable law.
2.3 The Jury members, their relatives, or HIPRA employees may not participate in the Challenge.
2.4 Participation in this Challenge implies acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
2.5 Registration for the Challenge is free and shall be submitted via the event microsite.
2.6 In order to participate in this scientific Challenge, the participants should submit the abstracts as defined in point 3 below via the Event Microsite. Abstracts can be submitted from March 29th 2021 until 23:59 on May 7th 2021.
2.7 On May 10th 2021 HIPRA will announce 10 pre-selected abstracts via the Event Microsite. As a next step, their respective authors will be asked to film a video up to 5 minutes long with a brief description of their ideas, and deliver these recordings to HIPRA by May 21st 2021.
2.8 On May 28th 2021 HIPRA will announce 3 finalists via the Event Microsite. The finalists will be asked to film a video up to 15 minutes long describing their idea and deliver these recordings to HIPRA by June 4th 2021.
2.9 The Jury´s decision will be communicated to all participants by means of publication on the Event Microsite on June 14th 2021. The video recordings of the 3 selected ideas/experiences will be reproduced during the Event and their respective authors may be granted the possibility of directly connecting with the Event and presenting their ideas directly to the Event’s attendees.
2.10 Failure to meet the Terms and Conditions of this scientific Challenge or failure to complete the mandatory information will result in the impossibility of participating in the Challenge.
3. Abstracts and Videos
3.1 An abstract must describe the participant’s own and original experience and/or his/her innovative ideas concerning the object of this scientific Challenge.
3.2 Basic specifications of an abstract: a) format: description in a maximum of 500 words; b) platform: submission via the landing page; c) submission form: complete the form available on the Event Microsite with the requested information.
3.3 Specifications for a video: the videos must be recorded by the participant, observing the time limit specified in each phase of this scientific Challenge, and must be sent to the jury when requested.
4.1 The Jury will be made up of the following HIPRA professionals: Evelyn Guirado (R&D Department), Lívia Soares (Marketing Department) and Almudena Sanchez (SMU – Scientific Marketing Unit).
4.2 The members of the Jury will elect the President from amongst themselves who, in the unlikely event of a tie, will have a deciding vote.
4.3 There is no right of appeal against the decision of the Jury.
5.1 The main reward of this scientific Challenge is acknowledgement of the top 3 positive experiences/ideas in reducing the use of antimicrobials in animals and sharing them with the Event’s attendees to the benefit of animal husbandry worldwide.
5.2 In order to not only acknowledge the authors of the top 3 ideas, but also to assist in their professional development, HIPRA grants them the right to participate in a HIPRA UNIVERSITY course. The dates of such course will be confirmed by HIPRA and agreed with these participants (always subject to the global health safety measures).
5.3 In consideration of granting to HIPRA the exploitation rights to the abstracts/videos and the associated image rights as indicated in point 6.1 below, the authors of the top 3 ideas shall be compensated with 1,000 EUR.
5.4 The compensation cannot be divided, nor be transferred to a different participant.
5.5 In the event that the selected author cannot be contacted, the Jury will select the next one, and so on.
5.6 The value of the compensation is subject to current tax regulations.
6. Intellectual Property and Confidentiality
6.1 Upon the payment of the compensation as agreed in point 5.3 above, the authors of the top 3 experiences/ideas assign exclusively to HIPRA any and all exploitation rights to the abstracts/videos that they may hold and their respective copyrights. Likewise, the authors authorize HIPRA to use their images and name in any and all photographs, images, videos, and performances or sound recordings which are taken from them in connection with the Challenge, always in relation to HIPRA’s business scope. The images shall not be used contrary to the authors’ right to honour, reputation or good taste. HIPRA shall be able to edit, modify, publish, broadcast or combine the images with other images, text, graphics, film, audio, audio-visual works at any time and by means of any media. These assignments and authorizations have neither geographic nor time limits.
6.2 Furthermore, HIPRA is hereby authorized by the participants to:
7. Processing of personal data
7.1 The personal data provided by the participants will be handled strictly in accordance with the regulations in force regarding personal data protection.
7.2 The data collected from the participants can be stored in a file owned by HIPRA and may be used to keep participants informed of the latest HIPRA products and services in the field of veterinary medicine and animal health.
8. Final provisions
8.1 HIPRA reserves the right to modify, for justified reasons, these Terms and Conditions, as well as the composition of the Jury.
